I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and got to relax with friends or family.<\/font><\/p>\n

Okay, I know it’s Thanksgiving, and by the time you read this you’ll probably be sick to death of turkey, but I like to beat a dead horse (who doesn’t?).<\/font><\/p>\n

You know, growing up in and around Boston, the only wild animals that I was used to seeing were pigeons, squirrels and the occasional crow, seagull or songbird.\u00a0 Once I saw a pheasant, and I almost jumped out of the school bus.\u00a0 I wondered if I was imagining things?<\/font><\/p>\n

Maybe I just led a sheltered youth?\u00a0 Or is the wildlife returning?\u00a0 These days I live less than a mile from Boston, and I see deer, foxes, chipmunks, hawks, raccoons, skunks, and turkeys.\u00a0 Lots of turkeys.\u00a0 I saw twelve at one time, just down the road.<\/font><\/p>\n

Here are a couple views of the hideously ugly birds at the nearby Blue Hills Trailside Museum<\/a>.<\/font><\/p>\n

At work, just a quarter-mile from a very busy suburban shopping center, I have seen snapping turtles, rabbits and turkeys.\u00a0 And moose and bears have been spotted nearby, too…<\/font><\/p>\n
